Farewell to Tricia & Peter
Tricia Hedin
Having spent most of her life fighting and advocating for individuals and families impacted by the criminal justice system, Tricia Hedin has been an incredible asset to the Board of Directors. She recently retired from a 30+ year career with the Public Defender Services for Lane County. Tricia has an encyclopedic knowledge of public safety and corrections systems at the local, state and federal levels. About her time on the Board, Tricia shares, “I eagerly agreed to serve on the Board of Directors. I have enjoyed being a part of the nonprofit’s growth and getting to know the amazing staff who help Sponsors succeed. I have been impressed by the caring intent and broad knowledge of my fellow board members. Sponsors offers opportunities to people who often experience closed doors even after the prison gates open.” Though Tricia is moving on to other pursuits, she will always support Sponsors’ mission and continue advocating. We are so grateful to you, Tricia, for your devoted work and partnership!
Peter Shannon
We’ve been so thankful to have Peter Shannon, a licensed counselor and compassionate advocate, on our board! Peter’s commitment to transforming lives is rooted in his faith. Reflecting on his 15 years with the board, he said: “I have been proud to work alongside and be associated with Sponsors! This organization has been and remains the perfect embodiment of a social service agency dedicated to the concept of redemption and second chances. It has been a truly genuine blessing for me professionally and personally to be associated with the esprit de corps of this pursuit. Though retiring from the Board, I remain closely committed as an allied ambassador to work alongside this wonderful group of individuals, in the pursuit of restoration and transformation. Sponsors’ honorable mission is one I am very grateful to be associated with.” Peter and his wife Mary will stay connected and serve as the Auction Honorary Chairs for next year’s Transforming Lives Together IN-PERSON benefit!
