After ten years of service, Richie Weinman is retiring from the Board of Directors. We are so grateful for the time he dedicated to Sponsors’ mission and wish him the very best.
Richie says, “It has been an honor to serve on the Sponsors Board of Directors. During my tenure Sponsors has transitioned from an organization that provided important services, to one that has earned increased respect in Oregon and nationally. Sponsors is a recognized model of best practices in reentry. Furthermore, Sponsors has seen dramatic increases in financial support from the public, which provides much needed program support while leveraging funding from grant sources.
The bulk of the credit for these accomplishments is due to a great staff. However, the board also recognized that the staff would benefit from additional training and mentoring from outside sources in order to keep up with the added workload. This training for the organization has paid dividends. It’s been a great 10 years to serve Sponsors and I’m sure I’ve learned and personally benefitted more than I gave.”
