Mentorship

The Mentorship Program brings together trained community volunteers with people who are reentering the community after incarceration. Sponsors Mentorship program cultivates healthy social connections, with the aim of fostering productive habits, building community, and providing new positive experiences. Most mentor-mentee matches are made while mentees are still incarcerated and extend several months post-release. This model allows the pairs to build bonds early and prepare for the process of reentry.

For many mentors and mentees alike, the friendship forged through this program lasts a lifetime.

Each pairing is granted an allowance for activities each month.
These funds can be used for a variety of things, including but not limited to, fishing licenses, woodworking supplies, yoga classes, painting lessons, coffee, movie tickets, or even a nice dinner!

The Mentorship Program frequently hosts fun, sober, inclusive events from hikes and baseball games to tie dying and barbecues. Check out some highlights from previous events below.

Become a Mentor Today

We’re always on the look-out for new community members who might be interested in becoming a mentor. We’ve heard from many of our past mentors that the experience working with a mentee was life-changing! We ask that Mentors be at least 24 years old. Those with conviction histories are strongly encouraged to apply. If you are in recovery from an addiction, at least one year without relapse is also required.

If you would like to explore opportunities to become a mentor, please contact Mentorship Director Amy Myers at 541-505-5665 or by email at [email protected]
