Home, The Foundation of Stability

This summer we celebrated receiving funding for The Coleman, a new affordable housing development that we will build in collaboration with Homes for Good and Lane County. We have been talking about this possibility for several years, and we are thrilled that the project is now moving forward.

50% of individuals in Oregon State Prison are homeless when they release. How does an individual without a home successfully reenter our community after incarceration? For most, it’s nearly impossible. It may come as no surprise that people experiencing homelessness are 11 times more likely to face incarceration.

These sobering statistics drive Sponsors and our supporters to keep fighting to expand access to long-term affordable housing for participants. And we are thrilled to be moving closer to breaking ground on The Coleman in 2026.

The building features:

  • 52 affordable, long-term housing units
  • On-site support services
  • Sustainable and energy-efficient design

We look forward to welcoming new residents to the Coleman in the future! Sponsors’ residents take pride in their homes and often express deep gratitude for the safety and stability offered.

One resident of Sponsors Tiny Homes community recently shared, “Knowing I have a place has changed a lot in my life. For the first time, I really believed I would never go back to prison. I can do this!”
