Organizational Purpose: Sponsors seeks to improve outcomes and opportunities for individuals with conviction histories and to assist individuals releasing from incarceration in their successful reintegration to our community.  Sponsors is nationally recognized as a model utilizing best practices in reentry services.

Reports to: This position reports directly to the Director of Finance

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no supervisory responsibilities

Primary Objective:  The bookkeeping, payroll processing, accounting and administrative duties role will serve the finance needs and maintain accounting records for Sponsors

• Ability to perform full cycle bookkeeping tasks.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of bank reconciliations, accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Preparation and review payroll processing to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.
• Ensures accurate and timely processing of payroll updates including new hires, terminations, deductions and changes to pay rates.
• Prepares and maintains accurate records and reports of payroll transactions.
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage, and hour laws and best practices.
• Provides audit support by providing records and documentation to auditors.
• Records numerical and financial data to produce financial records.
• Ensures financial data is entered correctly and accurately.
• Generates accounting and audit reports for cash receipts, accounts payable and receivable, expenditures, and profits and losses.
• Reconciles and troubleshoots report differences or issues found in financial records.
• Enter, maintain and revise checklists, Excel tools, and documented processes in collaboration with the Director of Finance.
• Works with other Partners and Stakeholders, under the supervision of the Director of Finance.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Extensive knowledge of payroll functions including preparation, balancing, internal controls, and payroll taxes.
 • Excellent organizational skills, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel, and related software.
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)

Required Skills/Abilities:
• Ability to use accounting software to record, store, and review financial data.
• Ability to efficiently operate a 10-key calculator or equivalent and other related office equipment.
• High level of reliability with ability to work autonomously/independently.
• Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.

Education and Experience
• Associates degree required, with preference in accounting, finance or business; Bachelor’s degree preferred, focused on accounting, finance or business.
• At least two years of bookkeeping experience required (preferably in the non-profit or financial industry).

Work Environment:
• Office environment
• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
• Work location: Roosevelt & 99 North, Eugene (no remote work available for this position)

Physical Requirements:
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• May stand, kneel, and stoop, etc. for periods longer than 15 minutes.
• May be asked to lift up to 15lbs (e.g. full file folder box).
